Community Involvement

The Compass team volunteered with the Food Bank of Delaware at their Thanksgiving mobile food pantry at Dover Downs Racetrack on November 19th.

Mobile pantries bring free food and groceries directly to the communities that need them. There, families will find pre-packed grocery boxes full of healthy foods or be able to shop farmers' market-style and choose what they want.

Jack and Dan sponsored the annual St. Marks High School golf tournament at Deerfield Golf Course in Newark, DE. The tournament is held to raise money for tuition assistance for families in need.

The Compass team proudly volunteered at the Food Bank of Delaware’s mobile food pantry on Friday November 22nd at the Crossroads Church in Georgetown DE.

In mid-September, Compass Investment Advisors sponsored the St Ann’s Men’s Club charitable golf outing at Salt Pond Golf Club in Bethany Beach.  Profits from the event are used to benefit local charities including the Delaware Cancer Support Community, Southern Delaware Education Foundation, and local elementary and middle schools.

The Compass team spent their annual Delaware Parks cleanup day at Killen’s Pond on Thursday May 16th, 2024. The team was busy cleaning the boat house and prepping the kids nature trail for the summer season.

The Food Bank of Delaware is the only facility in Delaware with the equipment, warehouse, and staff to collect donations from all sectors of the food industry and safely and efficiently redistribute them to those who need it most. Annually, it distributes approximately 15 million pounds of food from all sectors of the food industry including fresh produce, meats, shelf-stable foods, dairy products and more.

Compass is proud to be involved with FBDE, volunteering our time to assist box and distribute food to families in need at their Newark pantry.

The Compass team sponsored the 3rd annual Camp Barnes Golf Tournament in Rehoboth Beach, DE. Camp Barnes is a youth campground that the Delaware State Police maintain and manage since 1948. The camp is open to all Delaware youth from ages 10-13 from June-August at NO COST to the families of the campers.

The mission of the camp is to provide a free camp for the youth of Delaware, which allows campers to develop initiative and leadership skills necessary to accomplish tasks. The camp also enables campers to increase their self-confidence and feelings of accomplishment from their efforts and achievements.

Compass Investment Advisors is a proud sponsor of the Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce's annual Bluesuiters Golf Tournament.

This popular event, presented by the CDCC Military Affairs Committee, is designed to strengthen and celebrate the incredible relationship between the civilians of Central Delaware and the Officers and Airmen of the Dover Air Force Base.

As part of our partnership with the Food Bank of Delaware, The Compass Team volunteers at FBDE's organic farm. The produce harvested is distributed through the Food Bank’s Healthy Pantry Center for our neighbors seeking food assistance.
 

Dan, his daughters and the Polytech High School’s Interact Club gathered for their annual leaf cleanup day at The Shepherd Place in Dover on December 9th this year.

Dan is the advisor for the Polytech High School Interact Community Service Club.The Shepherd Place is a nonprofit homeless shelter for women and children.

Dan, along with his fellow Rotarians, and members of the Interact Club at Polytech High School had a great night ringing the bell for the Salvation Army’s annual holiday kettle fundraiser at Sam’s Club in Dover.

The Compass team volunteered with Polytech High School’s Interact Community Service Club and Delaware State Parks and Recreation to plant 40 trees at Killen’s Pond State Park in Kent County Delaware on May 18th. Dan is the Interact Club’s advisor at Polytech High School.
